Junior English Courses in England

Bournemouth is without question one of the finest student towns on England's South Coast. Its beauty and numerous facilities have helped to make it an important centre of tourism, education and business. It is also an excellent centre for shopping. Communications are good, with a comprehensive bus and train service extending throughout Britain and to many parts of Europe. London is only 100 minutes by train.

Bournemouth hosts numerous events during the year, including powerboat races, vintage car rallies, international tennis championships and windsurfing competitions. During the summer, there are weekly firework displays from the pier, laser-light shows, the Musicmakers Festival and the unique Flowers by Candlelight, when the people of Bournemouth gather to light 15,000 candles in the Central Gardens.

Bournemouth is safe and inviting for young people. The beaches and the pedestrian zones offer youths the opportunity to enjoy their holidays while the our schools' locations in residential neighborhoods assure easy transportation between host families and classes. In the region, it is possible to visit a variety of historic sites (Salisbury, Stonehenge, Corfe Castle...) and museums, or retreat to untouched natural settings, such as the neighboring New Forest.

The Program

Our junior programs are designed for youths aged 10 to 16 who would like to begin learning English or improve their existing capabilities while still enjoying a social environment with others of their own age. The program includes a combination of language courses and supervised activities, as well as accommodation with full board in host families.

The Schools

Our partner schools are reputable establishments who are accustomed to welcoming students from around the world. The schools are situated in calm, green residential quarters near the center of Bournemouth.

The family atmosphere of the schools creates a perfect environment within which students feel comfortable learning, working and having a good time.

The Courses

Upon arrival in Bournemouth, students take a placement test that allows the school to place them in the best class. We offer all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. Students receive 20 lessons of English per week. The classes are very international and it is unlikely that students will be surrounded by speakers of their mother tongue.

Activities

Accommodation

Students stay with host families who are carefully selected and habituated to young students. The accommodation includes full board (3 meals per day) in shared rooms (roommate will be of another nationality). However, the school reserves the right to place students in single rooms if the host family has an odd number of students or if students ages do not match.

Two friends who enroll together can request to stay in the same family. Students either walk to school in pairs if the host family lives close to the school or in a minibus organized by the school.
