Description of Options | Dates, Fees & Travel

This school provides a unique combination of sports camp and English lessons that you will not find anywhere else in the world. At our two beautiful and well-equipped campuses, students will learn to practice their sport of choice under the tutelage of some of the best coaches in the world. Further, since most of the pupils at the school are English and all courses are conducted in English, the practical opportunities to improve the language are limitless. There are three programs available at the school to suit your needs.

Sports & Language Program:

For international students, three hours of daily sports coaching is mixed with two and half hours of expert language tuition, helping your child increase their knowledge of the language and encouraging them to put it into practice during their hours of sport. The sports available for this programme include tennis, football, golf, hockey, rugby, dance, basketball, swimming and horse riding.

Multi Sports Program:

This program enables students to cover two or more sports in their time. Students spend up to three hours a day focusing on one sport (on the morning), whilst the rest of the day (on the afternoon) is divided between one or two others.

In the mornings, you can do Tennis, Golf, Hockey, Football, Swimming, Horse Riding, Dance, Rugby and Basketball. In the afternoons, you can choose from Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Golf, Tennis, Squash, Swimming, Biking and Canoeing.

Sports Academy:

This program is specifically designed to be a combination of intensive coaching, practice and competition. With specialist coaching, it is for those who want to concentrate on one sport only, morning and afternoon. Sports available for the programme are tennis, football, golf, hockey, dance, basketball, and swimming.

For all programs:

Evening social events and weekend excursions are included in each program. To see an example of a weekly schedule for this program, please click here. We can provide supervised travel to and from the camp from Brussels or Calais. Additionally, this sports program dovetails perfectly with our English courses for juniors and youths in nearby Bournemouth. We will arrange transportation between the two locations as necessary.

The Language Courses

We understand the importance and benefits of studying and travelling in a foreign country for youngsters today. That is why we have put together a language learning experience aiming to create confidence in speaking a second language. Students receive 25 hours tuition per course (lessons are taught in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the choice of sports).

At the beginning of each course students are assessed and placed into ability groups to receive their tuition. Students are surrounded by English kids, giving the children a real incentive to learn.

Throughout the years the teachers have developed a very dynamic and original attitude towards English language teaching, drawing on the students' interests and bringing this into the lesson to make them more enjoyable and relevant. We believe that when students are involved in their learning process, they are usually more interested and committed. That is why, wherever possible, we involve students in deciding what they need to learn.

This camp is unique in that it is the only Junior Summer Camp in which international and English students take the same activity courses, learning sport side by side with UK students, in an environment where English is in constant use. Social activities and sports coaching are all conducted in English.

The Sports Program

All staff ensure that children of all abilities can practice a sport properly and safely, encouraging both interest and talent in a fun environment.

Whether a complete beginner or experienced in their chosen sport, each child receives expert tuition from hand picked coaches, including international players and full time professionals.

Each coaching course lasts for one week, children can opt to specialise in more than one sport if a two-week break is chosen.

Each child will leave a course with a signed coaching certificate plus many receive special awards.

In recent years we have been lucky enough to attract some high profile coaches to our camps. They have taken various roles on the camps from coaching individual sessions to running the programme full-time. We hope that we can welcome them back this year along with other notable figures.
