The School
Established in 1989 the institute is a language school dedicated to your English language needs and is recognised by the Irish Department of Education as a school for the teaching of English as a foreign language. It is a member of Relsa, MEI, Galway Chamber of Commerce and Ireland West Tourism.To underline its commitment to your English language needs the school is now located in a newly purpose-built adult school in the centre of Galway city. It includes a coffee shop that is open to the public allowing students opportunities for added social contact. Classrooms are fully equipped and comfortable. The school has a comprehensive library and a small self access multimedia centre with access to e-mail and Internet facilities.

Courses
Options: Individual or group courses tailor-made to your particular language requirements or courses focused on your level in small international groups. Classes are topic-based around a core function where suitable grammar and vocabulary is developed throughout the course for each level. The emphasis is on listening and speaking skills to give you greater confidence when speaking English. Your Level 2 afternoon classes focus mainly on oral and communicative skills (Techniques for learning vocabulary, Writing skills, Communicative skills, Doing business at the bank / post office / travel agent, Surveys in Galway, Making Presentations, Conference Skills or topics appropriate to levels).

2. Academic English (examination course)
This course prepares students for the following Cambridge examinations: First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency.Students are assessed on arrival to ensure that they have the required level to pass their chosen examination. Great emphasis is placed on examination success and students are given a portfolio on the first day with a weekly plan of their classes. The dates of unit, progress and mock examinations are also included in the portfolio.
The course consists of the following: 12 weeks tuition & two weeks study and exam practice.
