Surf's Up!
Surfing is probably one of the "coolest" and most entertaining sports ever conceived, and there is no better place to learn than Southern California. Our two campuses in Glendale (Los Angeles) Oceanside (San Diego) are ideally situated on some of North Americas best surf beaches. Each afternoon, students receive two hours of surfing instruction, and spend much of their free time enjoying the California summer sun.

The coaches are all experience surfers, certified surfing teachers and qualified lifeguards. The program for more advanced surfers includes an excursion to the surf museum and another to a surf-board factory. The program for beginners includes excursions to other beaches and courses on surfing safety and surfer culture.

An invention of the United States in the 19th century, basketball remains one of the most popular pastimes shared by Americans and young people across the globe. Our 3 week program, given on the campus of the University of Lock Haven, combines daily practice with the university team coaches and English courses with other international students. Students are divided into two groups as a function of their age: Juniors of 12 to 14 and Teens of 15 to 17.

Each afternoon, students train with the university team coaches and improve their playing on all levels, defense or offence, shooting, passing, and layups, as well as learning how to work as a team. Young Americans are in some of the same classes as the international students, which provides the opportunity to make friends and practice the language.

Our program also includes an excursion to Philidelphia, home of the NBA's 76ers and Allen Iverson. It is also a lively city, where students can visit famous monuments or enjoy the commercial centers. There will even be a trip to the Hershey amusement park.

Boston, the capital and largest city of the state of Massachusetts, is one of the most desired student destinations in the United States. Its intense cultural life, prestigeous schools and universities, festivals, animated night life and charming architecture attract students from across the United States and the world. As the economic and cultural center of New England, Boston does not resemble other American metropoles: the center conserves a number of colonial buildings, the streets are not on a grid pattern and the city reserves a number of streets for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Our partner institution in Boston is situated in the very center of the city, just a stone's throw from the famous Boston Commons, the financial district and the theater district. Other attractions such as Harvad Square, Fenway Park (home of the Red Sox) or Newbury Street are easily accessible by public transport.

Students benefit from a number of excursions and discover the best of American East Coast culture: the Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, the University of Harvard, Fenway Park (home of the Boston Red Sox), etc. Youths generally enjoy the boat trip in the Atlantic for an afternoon of whale watching.
