Learn Italian in Rome
Italy, or lo Stivale (the boot) as Italians often call it, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and for good reason. The climate is warm and sunny yet temperate, the country is famous for its fashion products, there are miles and miles of sandy beaches and picturesque coastlines. Additionally, Italy, as the birthplace of both the Roman empire and the Renaissance, is historically one of the major centers of western civilization, and stays here are as culturally stimulating as they are relaxing.Rome, the capital city of Italy, is the at the geographic, cultural, and economic center of the country. The city is dotted with ruins from the ancient Roman Empire, buildings and churches from the middle ages, and art and architecture dating from the renaissance and baroque periods. It also hosts the territory of the Vatican City, the world's smallest country and the effective capital of the Catholic Church. In the evenings, the streets are brimming with activity, from the many restaurants that serve excellent Italian cuisine to concerts halls hosting both classic and modern musical events.
The School
Our partner school in Rome is a friendly and small language center that specializes in teaching Italian to foreign students who are preparing to take the CILS and IT (Certificate of Italian, advanced level) examinations for entry into Italian universities. It is located in the historical center of the city, just a stone's throw from the Coliseum and Termini Station.Classes are held from Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm for a total of 20 lessons of 55 minutes per week. If there are fewer than 4 students enrolled for any given course, the number of lessons will be reduced to 15. The school facilities are very modern, with a library and video library available to the students, including appropriate viewing equipment.
The school is a member of ASILS (Association of Language Schools of Italian as a Foreign Language) and ELITE (European Federation of Associations for Teaching Mother Tongues).
