Languages and Sports

For students who would like to combing their language learning experience with athletic activities, we offer a variety of sports and active programs during the summer and Easter vacation periods.

Sports Camps in England : summer only

Athletic Programs with or without language courses for youths aged 10 to 16


Whether complete beginners or confirmed athletes, students in this program receive an excellent opportunity to learn or improve the sport of their choice. The choice of sports is wide: football (soccer), tennis, golf, dance, basketball, hockey, rugby, equestrian sports and swimming are all available. The programs, which are two or three weeks in length, are conducted entirely in English in a very international environment.

Multi-sports Program


In this program, students can take lessons the sport of their choice in the mornings (15 hours/week) and a participate in a more relaxed multi-sports program in the afternoons (12 hours/week). The morning courses are taught by professional coaches and there are two different activities each afternoon.

Sports-Academy Program


This program is the most intense sporting program we offer and students practice the sport of their choice both in the mornings and the afternoons. The mornings are consecrated to professionally coached lessons, and in the afternoon students focus on playing the sport itself. This program is especially appropriate for advanced athletes.

Sports and Language Program


In this program, students practice the sport of their choice in the mornings with professional coaching, much as in the other two programs. Each afternoon, however, students follow 3 English lessons (45 minutes each). This program is most appropriate for students who wish to continue to improve their academic abilities during the summer while still getting the most out of their vacation.

Residential English Programs in Swanage

English and Sports Program for Youths aged 12-17



This program features 20 English lessons a week (45 minutes each) and 15 hours of sporting activities per week: badminton, basketball, fitness, out-door activities, kwick cricket, orienteering, "pushball", baseball, swimming, table tennis, volley-ball, weight-training, etc.

In the summer, the 15 hours of sports can include tennis (4h/week), golf(6h/week), horse-riding(3h/week), or nautical sports (6h/week). Please note that these options involve an additional supplement for equipment and field rentals.

There are also social activities in the evenings (disco, karaoke, live music, talent shows, etc) and weekend excursions. Participants stay in a dormitory that is very close to the school and very well equipped. Students are supervised at all times. We also offer supervised transportation directly to the school from either Brussels, Mons or Calais.

English in Host Families in Bournemouth, England

English + Golf or English + Tennis for youths aged 14 to 18


This program involves 5 morning courses of English (2h 40min per day) and four afternoons dedicated to golf or tennis lessons each week.

Participants stay with our dedicated host families. Group leaders are present in Bournemouth and are available 24 hours a day for the participants. We also offer supervised transportation directly to the school from either Brussels, Mons or Calais.

American Summer Camp for youths aged 14 to 18

This three week summer program is designed to bring youths from across the globe together to improve their English while participating in activities that still allow them to get the most from their vacation. Students take 20 English lessons a week while taking a sporting activity of their choice.

SURF (ages 15 and up)


Surfing is probably one of the "coolest" and most entertaining sports ever conceived, and there is no better place to learn than Southern California. Our two campuses in Glendale (Los Angeles) Oceanside (San Diego) are ideally situated on some of North Americas best surf beaches. Each afternoon, students receive two hours of surfing instruction, and spend much of their free time enjoying the California summer sun.

GOLF (ages 13 and up)


Golf, many of the initiates will tell you, is much more than a game or a sport. Indeed, this activity is a culture in itself, creating, cementing, and sometimes even breaking personal relationships of all kinds. For many, this hobby is an obsession...

TENNIS (ages 15 and up)


Our partner school offers a three week tennis course on the campus of the beautiful Mira Costa College in southern California. During the course, students receive 4 tennis lessons a week, supervised by a certified coach. The personalized training offers something to both beginners and experienced players.

DANCE (ages 15 and up)


Our program gives participants the opportunity to work with experienced, highly qualified teachers in a variety of different domains of dance. The teachers come from prestigious institutions such as the American School of Ballet, the Vertigo Dance Company of San Francisco, the Windrush School or the New York City Ballet. Most teachers have worked in numerous productions with some of the most famous dancers of the country.

BASKETBALL (ages 15 and up)


This 3 week program, given on the campus of the University of Lock Haven, combines daily practice with the university team coaches and English courses with other international students. Students are divided into two groups as a function of their age: Juniors of 12 to 14 and Teens of 15 to 17. Each afternoon, students train with the university team coaches and improve their playing on all levels, defense or offence, shooting, passing, and layups, as well as learning how to work as a team.

Residential Camps in Bruges, Belgium

Dutch, French or English and Athletics: tennis, horseback riding or omnisports for ages 8 to 17


This program features 4 hours a day of either Dutch or English and at least two hours a day of the sport of the student's choice. Students are supervised by professional Flemish coaches and practice their sport in a reputable sports center in the region.

The omnisport program involves many different sports, including tennis, field hockey, kayaking, basketball, table tennis, squash, football (soccer), etc. The sports are chosen as a function of the weather and the desires of the students as a whole.

In all the programs, instructors are fluent in the target language and instruction is conducted in that language. Students stay in individual rooms in a well equipped residence located in the historic center of Bruges.The program is rounded out with excursions and evening social activities. Our professional staff provides 24 hour supervision.

Haarlem: Dutch and Tennis

This program is for students who would like to follow tennis courses for 3 hours each afternoon and take Dutch courses each morning. The tennis course involves lessons and coached matches and tournaments between students. If the weather prevents students from playing, then afternoon excursions are organized instead.

Participants are lodged in carefully selected, dedicated host families. Group leaders are present in Haarlem and are available for students 24 hours a day. We also offer supervised transportation directly to the school from Brussels.

Personalized Language Programs

England, Ireland, and other locations possible (including Holland)


This program offers participants total immersion in their target language. Students live in the very home of their language instructor, who develops a personalized language program, all the while observing and participating in the lives of native speakers.

Within the framework of this program, students can also take a sports program on the side to both help in learning to use the language in every day life as well as just have fun.

A typical week in this program involves 10 hours of language instruction and three sporting sessions, with equipment rentals, facility fees and transportation to the activity included. Sports available include tennis, golf, horse riding, surfing, windsurfing, kayaking, le canoeing, rowing, scuba diving, baseball, football (soccer) or skiing. Variations on this schedule are, of course, possible.
